Cher Horowitz by Topshop

Cher Horowitz by Topshop

Cher Horowitz by Topshop by elbonner featuring a black cotton skirt

As scholarly and intellectual as I may seem (shut up, Emily), I cannot deny that one of my favorite movies ever made is Clueless. It's a modern take on Jane Austen's Emma and I love its ridiculousness and naive self absorption that consumes the films protagonist, Cher Horowitz. Plus, it's really funny and I love getting all nostalgic about the mid-nineties. One of the best and most memorable things about the movie is the fashion. Cher and Dionne have some of the cutest/most ridiculous outfits and I often find myself wondering how to create my own similar ensembles that won't get me laughed at in the world of today. Luckily, I have found a place that has allowed me to do that through the magic of Polyvore: Topshop! Topshop hails from the motherland (UK) and has always been the place to get cool stuff. Above I have put together a few 2013 friendly outfits that Cher Horowitz's of today would totally be into. The nineties are back and there's nothing you can do about it! Have fun and revisit some fun memories via wardrobe; sunflowers included!!

As If!: Make Me Cher Horowitz

As If!
This is purely a fun post with little to no substance other than the fact that I love the movie Clueless. This genius retelling of Jane Austen's Emma was most prepubescents girl first foray into British literature without even realizing it! It just screams mid nineties and it really is hilarious. There's something about a movie that is pure fun that makes me happy.I remember watching this movie on VHS every night during the summer of 1998 that I actually wore the tape out and my VCR decided to end its misery by eating it alive right when Cher is taking her drivers test. The new campaign from Wildfox helped inspire the little collage above and I'm pretty sure this will be my new Halloween costume. I love all the little plaid skirts and knee sock outfits. Totally killer fashion sense! That's all for now, later bettys, I'm outie!

Wildfox Stole my White Girl Heart

Can we get a moment of silence for this spring 2013 campaign by WILDFOX? IT'S CLUELESS, PEOPLE! One of my favorite movies ever, even if she does fall in love with her step-brother (ex step-brother, ok!). I really like Wildfox stuff anyways, even if they sell clever t-shirts for $80+, so this whole thing makes me love them even more. So much that maybe I'll invite Wildfox to the Galleria for some retail therapy or take it to a bitchin' party in the valley. Either way, it makes me yearn for a privileged California upbringing that I never had, or maybe just a time when I could stay up all summer long and watch this movie on tape every night before I went to sleep. WILDFOX, I'm totally buggin' for this collection!
