Plaid Is Rad

Plaid Is Rad

Plaid Is Rad by elbonner featuring gap

It may have been nearly 90 degrees with 80% humidity today in my city, but that didn't stop me from thinking about something I love about fall: PLAID. Plaid is great because it can look comfortable, edgy, traditional and elegant. It really is a versatile print. I really want to be one of those people who are brave enough to jump on the cape train because I think they are really fun and are essentially a giant blanket. You can also whirl around in it and feel like you're in a movie about olden times. Plaid pants are also something that I'm into after a long post middle school bondage pants phase hiatus (oh dear) that I thought would turn me off from plaid pants forever. I saw a post on a street style site a few nights ago and cannot find the picture to save my life, but this girl renewed my passion for plaid pants; pairing them with a long black wool coat, a white t-shirt, and black Chelsea boots. Super simple, but amped up by the raid plaid pants. Plaid is a great print to add to any outfit; the beauty is in it's versatility and I think everyone should buy a ticket for the plaid express!

All The Leaves Are Brown...Not Yet But Soon!

Fall Is Coming...

Fall Is Coming... by elbonner featuring leather tote handbags

Fall is on its way here in the northern hemisphere and there's literally nothing we can do about it. Global warming hasn't annihilated our seasons into one fiery, death-scorching summer (though it has tried) so we still have discernable seasons in my neck of the woods. I used to  HATE fall fashions because: 1. They were a lot of the times brown and colorless. 2. All the prints looked like curtains my parents had in the seventies. 3. Everything would just look like an Abercrombie & Fitch/ Tommy Hilfiger catalog:plaid, hoodies, stuff that looked like football jerseys. It was a sad state of affairs. Luckily, in recent years fall and winter fashions have perked up a bit and left the unhappiness and decay to the plants and trees. I don't know why it took them so long to include bright cobalt blues, tangerines, fuchsias and mustard yellows back into the fall palette, but it has done wonders for fall clothing lines and my winter depression. The geniuses at our favorite brands have finally decided to add some color and fun prints to make having Seasonal Affective Disorder a little easier. This outfit above is something I could find myself reluctantly looking forward to in the coming months. Clockwise from the right:
