The Things They Carried: What's In My Bag!

Who cares, right? You would think so, but people friggin' love these types of things. I know I watch YouTube videos of people showing me what's in their purse. It's a weird, voyeuristic view into the mundane things we chose to carry with us at all times that are eerily similar, but oh-so different! I had a sexy beach photo shoot with the contents of my bag today which was only destroyed three times by the wind. Here's the end result!

The Bag

The Contents (L-R)
 iPhone with case from Society6
A Book (currently The Code by Shaun Thompson)
Fossil wallet
Rio change purse I got from Macy's last year
Keys

If you couldn't tell, my bag seems to be made up on lots of little bags inside of one bag in a vain attempt at organization. I love my bag, though. It holds everything and would be great for school/work. It's big enough to hold a laptop or a change of clothes and it even reverses to a beautiful royal blue color once summer rolls around! I like using the Samudra clutch when I don't feel like carrying a big bag and want something a little more festive!

Well, those are the secrets of my purse. I hope that interesting in any way. If not, I have certainly wasted my time and yours. Anywho, it's nice out so I'm out of here! Adios!

Outfit Inspo: Bring On The Warmth

Bring On The Warmth

Bring On The Warmth by elbonner featuring beach wall art

Had a decently warm day today, though it felt like it was way too windy for my tastes. It seems as though the weather has turned the corner and is getting to where it should be instead of 34 and raining all the time. In celebration of breaking into the low 70's, I made a little outfit to celebrate. Really simple, with some fun embellishments that scream "simply summer". I'm just hoping it gets a lot warmer by my birthday! Have a good weekend, everyone!

T-Shirt: Rag & Bone
Shorts: One Teaspoon
Earrings: Free People
Necklace: Free People
Perfume: Saffron James
Nail Polish: Essie
Sunscreen: Shiseido
Lip Balm: Clinique
Clutch: Samudra
Shoes: Vans

Endless Summer

Endless Summer

I have to be honest with myself; fall isn't that far away, and as far as I'm concerned, it can eat a dick. We just got our first 76 degree day since April and everyone is ready to pull out their boots, scarves, and pour pumpkin spice all over fucking everything. I'm sorry, but I just won't have it! There are plenty of good summer days left without being tainted by maroons and closed-toed shoes. It is around this time that, though I am fighting fall tooth-and-nail, that my outfits start to transition from neon, Miami beach fluorescent Barbie, to a weird hippie/ wannabe Native American hybrid, that will ultimately turn into biker slut once I have to start wearing jackets. For breezier evenings I am liking the whole printed kimono deal, it's technically a light jacket, but it's sheer enough to not feel like you've surrendered to layers again. The rubber flip flops turn into intricate gladiator sandals, patterned Toms, and old school Vans (NO SOCKS DAMMIT). I usually go back to a more neutral bag or something that can be fun and a little bit less in-your-face. I'm not surrendering, I'm merely adapting because summer will be back I tell you! And I will dress with a vengeance when it does!

That's all for now everyone! Keep the summer alive and have a beachy transition to make the hell that is the next six months just that much easier to stomach! Stay hot!

Take Me To The Beach And No One Gets Hurt

Samudra Bags

The Christmas tree has been taken down, it's cold, it's rainy, and I'm sick of hot coffee and want an iced one SO BAD. I'm hitting the SAD hard right now and all I've been doing is daydreaming about being back on the beach. These super cute bags from Samudra have been keeping me from running into traffic with their beautiful sunsets and palm trees. These are bug enough to hold an iPad and your usual purse essentials. I usually hate clutches because they just scream "I'm going to leave this somewhere" and never see it again, but I can't help but love these little bags. Maybe if I had a bag that helped cure my depression I'd be less apt to leave it in a Taco Bell. So if you feel like your happiness is being sucked out of you every time to leave to go to work in the dark only to drive back home in the dark, then maybe a cute beachy clutch is what you need to stay sane until summer.
