The past few weeks have truly been cold, miserable, a have sucked the joy and happiness out of just about everything. All it makes me want to do is daydream of somewhere sunny, warm, and far away from work and from the day-to-day crap that we all wish we didn't have to do. Since I'm not planning on going anywhere like this, I can at least have fun with the idea! I've recently been into everything Greek, and by Greek I mean Greek Islands. The blue Aegean, sun-soaked, whitewashed houses clinging to the sides of cliffs, surrounded by crystal blue water, topped off with little blue-domed houses dotting the skyline! That sort of scenery pairs perfectly with linen tees, slouchy jeans and some strappy, flat sandals. Don't forget a giant bag to hold all of your chicken souvlaki and pounds of feta cheese! I've really been digging the whole deep blue and white combo and decided to make a little tribute to the simple, yet beautiful pair. So, if you're in a winter slump, don't be blue, get some beautiful Grecian blue in your life! And besides, it's nothing a little ouzo and baklava can't fix! Opa!

Had a decently warm day today, though it felt like it was way too windy for my tastes. It seems as though the weather has turned the corner and is getting to where it should be instead of 34 and raining all the time. In celebration of breaking into the low 70's, I made a little outfit to celebrate. Really simple, with some fun embellishments that scream "simply summer". I'm just hoping it gets a lot warmer by my birthday! Have a good weekend, everyone!

Bitchin' Color of the Year: Radiant Orchid

I LOVE Pantone's "Color of the Year" this year, which just happens to be the beautiful color "Radiant Orchid". I have gotten more and more into purpley-pink colors like this and now I just can't get enough of it. It reminds me of tropical sunsets, summer toenails, dragon fruit smoothies, and, of course, orchids!  Now, this color is just all over everything and I have nooo problem with that at all. I really want to try some of the matte lip colors that are coming out in bright colors like orchid. I feel like they'd be great for a summer night out with my bitches. Pantone Universe even makes home paint colors, so if you're as obsessed with Radiant Orchid as I am you can paint your whole house that color. It could be the only color you ever see! This color screams warm weather, trips to the beach, and all-out fun so get ahead and get radiant!

All this warm weather and promise of a tropical vacation has put me in the mood to SHOP! If I didn't spend everything on food and bills, this ensemble would totally be in my closet by now. Even as an obvious not-svelte person, I really enjoy looking at and buying swimwear. Just mix and match different pieces that fit and the number one, important thing is to not care. Unless someone is a total jagweed and goes out of their way to tell you that you look bad, it's almost a guarantee  that no one is going to say anything to you about your swimwear choice. 

It's also toenail polish color explosion with lots of neon and brights in summer nail collections. Not to mention lots of new sunscreen formulas and new products. Bah, I'm o excited!! I love the warm weather. I started Insanity (it's awesome); if you like HIIT workouts then Insanity is for you. I get bored and find myself really liking interval workouts to keep me entertained. I'm slapping on my vitamin C serum and pumicing my crusty feet (sorry). Get ready for the sun, baby!

It's officially spring time even though it snowed here the day after the first day of spring. It may still be cold and gloomy, but spring nail polishes are here and I want ALL OF THEM. My favorites are the mints, corals,and subtly 80s-a-rific pastel purples. It's like all the colors of Cadbury Mini Eggs made wearable on your fingers! Above are my favorites so far, my absolutes wants are the ones in the middle row from Butter London. Ugh, they look like so much fun! These can easily transition into summer and will look good if you've got a little color or if you chose to remain fair. It makes me yearn for the trees to blossom and not having to wear a jacket! I'm tired of having to pull all of my layers back over my muffin-top after once of them makes the other ride up. Go away winter, you're not welcome anymore. ALL HAIL SPRING!
