As If!: Make Me Cher Horowitz

As If!
This is purely a fun post with little to no substance other than the fact that I love the movie Clueless. This genius retelling of Jane Austen's Emma was most prepubescents girl first foray into British literature without even realizing it! It just screams mid nineties and it really is hilarious. There's something about a movie that is pure fun that makes me happy.I remember watching this movie on VHS every night during the summer of 1998 that I actually wore the tape out and my VCR decided to end its misery by eating it alive right when Cher is taking her drivers test. The new campaign from Wildfox helped inspire the little collage above and I'm pretty sure this will be my new Halloween costume. I love all the little plaid skirts and knee sock outfits. Totally killer fashion sense! That's all for now, later bettys, I'm outie!

Thanksgiving Friendly Outfits

Thanksgiving Friendly Outfits

Thanksgiving Friendly Outfits by elbonner featuring knit sweaters

Thanksgiving and gluttony go hand-in-hand which means your cute new jeans and horizontally-striped sweater might feel like a clingy, cotton-blended prison once all that rich food has been stuffed in your gob.  The answer to the age old question"what outfit can I get away with that's as comfortable as pajamas, but better looking than a prison jumpsuit?". The answer are structured leggings, flowy tops, and chunky sweaters. ALL of these things are on trend and always look chic if paired correctly. Just remember, the rule is if you're wearing just plain stretchy leggings, your top needs to go over your butt/crutch or else you will look like you've forgotten to wear pants. With structured leggings (ones that look like real pants) you can get away with basically wearing stretch pants and still looking good. Structured leggings are called that because they have details that make them more than just stretchy pants: zippers, paneling, rivets, and even prints can keep you from looking like an uncoordinated ballet teacher and the outfits above show how leggings can look holiday appropriate. So go ahead, have another slice of pie, you've got the room!

Das Boot!

Das Boot!

Das Boot! by elbonner featuring kitten heels

I effing love boots. I am not discriminatory against any of them unless they have heinous rhinestones. My favorites are Chelsea boots, which make everything very dapper and on point. They make the most ripped up jeans look like formal wear and make the cutesiest dresses look bad ass. Here are a few of my favorite boots for this season. Just click the links below to view my shoe porn up close! Those western print mini western boots are almost worth losing a toe!

Have a Badass Fall

Have a Badass Fall

Have a Badass Fall by elbonner featuring round toe boots

It's the autumnal equinox which means it's friggin' fall! For me, my favorite part of fall is going to Howl-o-Scream at Busch Gardens, a theme park close by. The park opens all of these crazy haunted houses and stays open late so you can ride the rides at nighttime. It's way better than summer because you're not sweating your balls off in line for an hour and since it's off season a lot of the tourists are gone! Since theme parks have a tendency to attract the dregs of society, I like to look as well put-together as possible to make other people feel bad about their outfit choices. This year I'm going for the   "Don't talk to me in line. Ever" look while still maintaining the amount of comfort you'd need to walk around a theme park all day. I like these coated jeans because they have the bad ass look of leather, but with the benefit of maintaining a level of posterior breathability (it can still be warm here in October :( ). I've included some comfortable motorcycle boots for kicking haunted house monsters, a messenger bag to hide all the food I want to sneak in, and a jacket for when it gets a bit chilly outside. Plus, it looks like something you'd hunt vampires in so it's holiday appropriate! I love going with my friends because we can walk around, have a beer, and get scared shitless. I love Howl-o-Scream!

Grey Skies

Grey Skies

Rain again today. This last week of August has looked more like a rainy October than sunny summer. Even though it's still like 89 degrees outside it's starting to feel fall-ish. I concocted an outfit that reflects my mood at the moment. I effing love those one teaspoon jeans. I looked high and low for a pair, but it's like they've been kidnapped by the CIA and are super hard to find. I found a pair on asos.com, but not in this color (which is what I really wanted). Well that's all for now!
